Two photos. I installed a 36-1 wheel at the harmonic balancer and a sensor. Lots of room now with no distributor.

Coils are on brackets on the valve covers. The brackets also serve as the hold down for the new injector rails. Running 19# bosch. I also incorporated a jeep 4.0 liter IAC control into a custom air box where the old cold start valve used to mount. I did this so I could keep all the standard engine breather hoses, locations, and functions. Works well.

I also added a cold air intake which is in addition to the cost above.

Congratulations - Looks like a neat arrangement.

Personally, I prefer to keep my car as stock as possible. It runs well, but I do find that the Djet does not seem to cope all that well with changes in ambient conditions. Mixture settings change (I have full time AFR readout and can see the change).

I was interested in your IAC. Presumably that replaces the AAV? I would love to try an electronic control valve instead of the problematical self acting AAV. Gurunutkins who sometimes posts here installed a manually operated electric valve, but a fully automatic one would be better. Is that what your Jeep IAC achieves? Does MS provide the warm up control?

Yes, the Idle Air valve replaces the AAV. My car would never idle the same two days in a row. It would idle low when hot, high when cold, erratic when raining. The girl has about 500,000 on the clock, so the D-jet had done its job admirably, but the high mileage, age, and an engine fire by the previous owner meant fixing it was going to be a job and$$$$$

The idle air valve I added is a stepper motor on a pintle valve controlled by the Megasquirt. When you start the car, the valve opens to a programmable position during cranking. Once running, the valve closes to a position determined by the coolant temperature. I also have a feedback loop in the circuit so I can program my idle speed based on coolant temperature and it will open/close the valve to maintain idle speed.

My idle is now consistent and never hunts more than 10 rpm at idle.

I didn't see a drastic increase in mileage (about 15mpg in town), but did see a big change in throttle response and power. My car also has the higher compression euro 4.5 so it started life with 225hp. I think with the MS3 and cold air intake, I have to be close to 250. It really is fun to drive.

I appreciate keeping it original, but this is my daily driver, not original color, not original interior, different motor......and its a sedan so will never be collectible like a coupe. I figured make it more fun to drive.

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like just the car to do the conversion on. Great job!
