Hi All,
I was told to run 20w 50 by the classic center (not who rebuilt the engine). I am doing some work on the car tomorrow and plan to change the oil and check the oil pressure again. perhaps I'll post a video but glad the consensus seems normal. I believe all the correct seals were used from MB - meaning OE rope seals etc... Also, I have not heard you can't run diesel oil in gas motor - intact I've run diesel oil in my gas Volkswagens for quite some time with no issues. |

When you change the oil make sure that the filter is installed correctly and the seals are present - or they didn't leave an old one in and there are two in the place of one. Your oil pressure gauge should not be acting like a tach. It should come off a little at idle and be pegged the rest of the time. Did you have better oil pressure before the rebuild? Something is not right. Oil filter, oil pump, or worst case a bearing. Did the rebuilder change the oil after initial run in? When you drain the oil use a filter to catch any metal filings just in case. You have a real OP gauge connected to the engine by an oil line. No need to hook up anything else.
