No cylinder head gaskets for w108 250S?
Say does anybody out there know what is happening to Elring and their "No Longer Supplied" cylinder head gaskets and cylinder head gasket set for this M108 engine? Looked on their website today and I got a sinking feeling. I suspect that's why Pelican Parts is out of stock.
Does this mean that the M108 is an orphan engine? Thanks for your replies, Frank and rumb. I could not find a correct fit for my engine on ebay or autohauz. If you see an different manufacturer and part number, please let me know. Also, I have not had luck with the Victor Reinz site.
That specific Elring gasket, 812.081, which replaces Mercedes #180-016-46-20, also fits the 220b(M180.940, 220Sb(M180.941), 230(M180.945), 230S(m180.947) and a few others. Elring does not provide options to this gasket for the 250S or the others. That suggest to me that there is something very particular about the oil/coolant ports and other features that become more determinative than the cylinder bore. I just got an email response from Elring stating that they could provide me with a 812.081 gasket, made in Feb 2020, for 225 euros + 50 euros shipping. At today's rate that's about $303USD. That's for the gasket only. They did not mention the availability or price for the gasket kit (826.464). The email was not information packed. So, it did not address their meaning of "No Longer Supplied" - no longer manufactured, or production delayed, or shipping delayed, etc. Hopefully I can get some more information about this later this week. Thanks again.

I had purchased 1800100280 from ahZ 7/20/18, I see they dont list anymore. Worked just fine on my 250s M108 engine.

https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/5708/MBZ_5708_ENGCYL_pg2.htm#item10 on the pelican part's correct for a 1967 Mercedes 250 S ? or not ? on the parts page it says it is correct ? but online on some other sites it say's otherwise ? I guess the way to know for sure is to contact Elring and ask them ? |
