Can I use 15" wheels on my 250S to lower engine speed?
thinking that it might lower the rpm's at 70...

Sure, but you need to make sure that the offset is the same so that you don't have clearance problems with the calipers. You could also try a "taller" tire.

Taller tire is probably better (the stock ones are pretty skinny by modern standards) -- there is limited clearance in the front fenders at full lock.
You could always get the rear end out of a 4.5 instead -- just remember to get the speedo gear, too. Peter

You do realize that going to a taller tire will also hamper low-speed acceleration.

Yes, I am aware that when you change to a taller tire, it changes the effective gearing and will decrease the rate of acceleration.
It gets up to speed fairly well, but you do have bury your foot a bit.
