sl wiring
I just bought a 1977 450 sl and love it. I have been cleaning and sorting out problems. I was surprised to find what looks like the original spark plug wires, is this normal?
I had always thought this was a replaceable item. The car runs rought at warm starts, but otherwise seems ok. My net project is replacing all the vacuum hoses. |

Having the original wiring is not surprising. My 190SL still has its original plug wires. The wires are solid copper and last a very long time. The plug ends have an internal resistor that sometimes fails.
If you replace the wires, stay with the solid core wire verses the generic graphite core wire.
