Wipers won't quit -- 114 coupe
My windshield wipers won't turn off now. Would it be the switch or a relay?
Thanks for your help, Catrinus 73 280C |

Could also be the wiper parking switch in the motor but first check the washer pedal and switch in th driver's footwell for rusting/sticking.

How on earth do you check the "wiper parking switch" on the motor???
I will check the foot pedal as soon as the ice clears off the car (tomorrow?) Thanks, Catrinus |

Try unplugging the under-dash wiring harness coming from the wiper stalk to see if it's the switch. If the wipers still won't stop, try unplugging the wiring harness at the footwell washer pump.
If you're handy with a voltmeter or 12 Volt test light you can probe the wiring at the wiper motor. It helps to have a wiring diagram. If it's a stuck parking switch you may be able to dissassemble the wiper gear cover and repair it, otherwise you may need a new motor assembly. Happy Motoring, Mark
