W 108 Key and tumbler

I need to buy a new ignigtion key and tumbler insert. Where can I find these units at?

I bought mine from the Classic Center (key). Was very inexpensive, and of course OEM quality. If the locks have not been changed, they can even order it cut based on your VIN number. Mine worked flawlessly. I think it was $15ish.

Not sure how much the tumbler insert would be.

You can also order them from a MB dealer, but you need proof of ownership. Part suppliers can also do it, but all need proof of ownership. I ordered both tumbler and new key through a local part supplier ac ouple of years ago. Tumbler was great (easy to replace), but key (from MB) was poor quality. Went to local locksmith and he made me a copy from my old key, which worked as a charm for $5. I think I posted it on this forum.

Wow...I didnt have to prove anything. Maybe its because I have ordered parts in the past....I might have to start gathering VIN numbers for my crime spree!
