Question Need Specs & Tune Procedure,73' 350sl Euro

I just bought a 1973 350sl, I believe it to be euro from what I've read on this (great!) site
vin #107043
eng #116.982
has yellow injectors
the car will run , but the best I can do is ,bucking or no power under load
I'm not sure of specs as the manual is trashed and next to impossibe to read.
thanks
Ken

Call 1-800-for-merc and get the manual for a 450SL. It's a simple CD with everything you need. You can also find the M116/M117 3.5/4.5 engine manual on ebay on paper.

Search this site for threads on EFI, D-jet or D-jetronic fuel injection, and the like. There are dozens of posts here that will have what you want.

Be prepared to spend several hours with an eletrical meter and probably a soldering iron going over the wire harness of the fuel injection system. It's worth the work.

As for setting the timing, take it up to 4,500 RPM without vacuum and set it to 5 BTDC and you'll be close enough.
