Wow, that W123 was rough! That V8 really fills the engine bay. What a monster! Great work!

Nije, imam papire ( prometnu ), od jednog dečka iz Orašja je.Samo, papiri mi ne trebaju, kada niti nemam nikakve koristi od njih...
Pozdrav.

I really would have scrubbed the hell out of the engine before I put it in. Looks really awesome, I wish I could get away with something like that. Drop a 6.9 into a 250c, now that would be a brabus, not AMG.

New photos and video of first start ( don't be surprised by noise and vibrations, there is no exhaust pipes ).

That is an AMAZING amount of work to put into a 123.... How many hours have you spent on this project.
I wish I saw this 2 years ago, at the time I was thinking of putting a 560 motor (560SEC) into one of my 123 wagons (300TD) since they both used the hydraulic pump for the rear suspension. I was to call the project the 560STD

How much hours...?
I have to calculate all, I really don't know, but I will post here when I calculate all costs and time.

I am amazed as well, as to the determination and the amount of work done.

Nice rear seats.

As far as the grill goes, I vote for the original style - although I might consider painting the gray plastic black.

Thanks for the update!

Wow, nice work on the car, imagine it took over one year so far!

All it needs is the trim on it again and it'll be gorgeous. Looks almost ready to be perfect.

Am I wrong or is that an American 1974 Chrysler Newport, outside the garage, in clip 4, 00:47, if so, then how did a car like that get to Croatia?

Nope, Cadillac Fleetwood 1971.
And how did it came to Croatia...Who know, God works in mysterious ways
Some of american cars came here during the war, as aid program, but, for some, I really don't know how.
American cars are here very rare, and VERY expensive. For example, guy near my town sells DeVille 1987., V8, as some rare car, and he wants for it 15 000 $!
On the other hand, friend of mine bought Mustang Boss 1969., in some village from some guy, for 4000 $.Altough, it had no engine...
I LOVE american cars, but for know, they are too expensive for me...
For example, I bought this Mercedes for 100$...

Yes, that is pretty interesting. I had a friend (Zoran) who came to San Francisco with his family when the war started in 1991, they were from Mostar and had to get out fast, in their VW Golf.

I was talking to him, about the American cars there, and he said when he was there he always wanted to own a Cadillac. He said Mercedes was too common, "workers with muddy boots would drive them".

We went with them and saw the movie "Vukovar Posi Restante" which was filmed there in Vukovar when the fighting was going on. It was amazing, to see it. there were some scenes from Mostar and they recognized their old shoemaker in the movie. His wife had to leave and wait outside, she was crying too much, the memories were so bad.

But, your Mercedes is to Americans who know, much better, and you made a very good choice to fix up yours. Your'e right that a V8 engine in a W123 Mercedes is a wonderful car to create. When it is finished you will have a car unique in all Croatia to show off to the Mercedes club meetings

The AMG company made only a very few of these cars, and they are very rare.

How small is the world...My mom was born in village 18 km south from Mostar, and half of my family lives there.

Yes, also known as "gastarbajteri" from German, Gast ( guest ) and arbeiten ( to work ).People who were seeking better job then in Yugoslavia, often went to Germany.

I know, I live about 15 km south from Vukovar.During the war, my city of Vinkovci, was literaly couple of meters from enemy lines.Only railroad track divided us from them.Luckily, Vinkovci weren't occupied.
Here is a picture from Vukovar, taken by me couple of days ago, this monument is dedicated to all croatian soldiers who were killed in war.
Picture is called "Price of freedom".

I hope that no one minds for this OT.

Well, as far as I know, it is unique.
