Temperature sender

Hi all,

Stupid question but on my 72 250 M130 W114 that I'm trying to remove the head, between spark plug 2-3 there is a wire that comes off that and leads through the firewall.

Is that the temp sending unit? If so how do I remove it? I tried turning the brass nut but managed to remove some of the brass.

Do I need to take it off the part that is in the head? it only has 2 sides where a wrench can go (just for your refrence)

That is not a wire ..it is a hollow capillary tube and it has a charge in it..meaning the gauge is mechanical..do not cut/bend that tube.
Soak it w/BP Blaster overnight and carefully try again.

Yeah...tap around it a bit with a light ball pean..just enough to set up some vibration.
Then don't try and turn until you have a real tight grip.
They can be a PIA, but worth taking your time b/c they cost a fortune.
