w126 window switch testing

I would like to replace the passenger window switch on the center panel. how can one remove and test it.

Open ashtray and remove two phillips screws. Then remove the ashtray carriage that the two screws held in place. Pull out plastic change cup below ashtray. Slide the center console forward to detach clips from rear (Very Important). You probably will have to detach the fader switch plug first to gain some access.
