Condensation lines for A/C in 68 w111 -- help please

Someone mounted a Kuhlmeister A/C in my 68 280 SE coupe. There are two condensation lines (one on each side). The lines run toward the firewall and are tucked in under the carpet! After my mechanic got the A/C going it quickly soaked the carpet.

Questions:

1) Where would the condensation lines normally be routed to the outside? I do see one unused grommet on the driver side under the brake pedal.

2) There are two condensation lines -- one on the driver and passenger sides. Would the unit work OK if I blocked one off and ran the other line to the outside of the car?

Thanks for the help
Justin
