MBZ used a small rubber O ring or gasket on the rivets between roof and bottom of the rail, will duplicate with metric O rings on the new rivets.


Did you have to remove the headliner to do this? I have a 72 250C exactly like yours and I'm planning to have it repainted. The shop tells me it will have to remove the headliner. I hate to do that because my headliner is perfect.

No I can not see why you would need to remove the headliner, we did not. Just drill out the old rivets and remove the rails, some likely need to be replaced anyway.

Start a thread and post some before and after photos for us to enjoy.
