W111 a/c belt number?

I am helping a guy piece together an under dash a/c unit for his 220s from the early 60's.

We don't have the original drive belt for the A/C system. Can someone tell me what the Dayton or other brand number for this belt is?

This is a Mercedes dealer installed unit. If you have the Kuhlmiester system then that is the drive belt I am looking for.

Thanks!

It would. If nothing else it would help me narrow down the belts due to pully groove size. This has a single groove.

This one has the compressor mounted on the carb side of the engine. An additional pully is mounted to the front of the main drive pully. A spacer is placed between the fan and water pump to allow the belt to clear the fan.

There is an idler pully below the compressor and one to the side of the compressor. The one to the side allows the belt to miss the fan blade; the one under the compressor appears to be the one that takes up the slack in the belt.

Although I guess both idler pullies could be used to adjust out the slack.

Thanks!

Two idler pullies sounds wrong. There should be one near the head. The compressor is in front of the dual carbs on a terrifying bracket that is bolted all over the place, including to the water pump. I have a belt for mine but I don't know where it is. I would be very surprised if it isn't the same grove size as your fan belt.

The two idlers sounds wrong to me as well. I mean, why?

But this came as a used compressor mounting and when I took it off there was the bracket behind the compressor that mounted to the intake manifold, the main mounting unit that bolted to the side of the engine, right behind the thermostat holder, and also bolted to the front of the engine with bolts that required removing the water pump pully to access.

But there was an idler pully below the compressor and some sort of 'idler pully bracket' looking thing above the water pump. However there was no pully on it. Just this thing that looked like it would hold a pully.

I will post a photo. Perhaps this is something I have never seen before?

Take a flexible tape measure (like used for measuring when sewing) and measure the length you need. Barring that, use a rope. If you use a rope you may need to add a half inch because belts usually measure the outer, not inner circumference. I did that when I needed to replace my alternator belt after the old one flew off on me on a road trip.

First paragraph sounds correct (and typical of lots of 6 cylinder Mercedes). I've never seen anything like an idler pully below the compressor. Below the compressor I would think you would have the generator and I thought it sort of swings in and out to adjust tension. I'll try and take a few pics later of my 63 220S. Trouble is I get home after dark and will probably forget in the morning.

High Capacity V-Belt (Standard); 15/32" x 50-7/8"
Does that sound like the right length?
