I have an '86 300E and the wheels are looking their age. What are the best products/procedures for refurbishing alloy wheels?

These wheels are painted from the factory. The paint eventually fades, cracks and peels off from years of heat and brake dust (not to mention running over the occassional curb). The best method I have found to refurbish these wheels is to send them to a specialty shop that will repaint for a reasonable fee. In Atlanta we have such a facility - Rennsport. Good luck.

I just need a good cleaner. The brake dust is hard to get off.
What is a good cleaner?
