wheel size for w124 snow tires

I want to mount snows on separate wheels to do the yearly changeover. Should I use standard size oem wheels or would a different width be more effective. What is the most effective size for the snows. Thanks.

luke, what about the width- the oem size 6.5 inches or the 190e/w201 6.0 inches?
