euro wheel I.D... (and finding a KEY to take 'em off!)

got an '82 euro w123 model 250 with some wheels i haven't come across before. can somebody identify them, and also tell me WHERE i can get a key for the wheel lock? (and/or if there's some tool i can "make" to get 'em off in the meantime)

look on the back of it... do you see a mercedes star anywhere on it? or a part #?

I've seen those before and IIRC they are not factory

Those are Centra wheels. Those look like 15" version. Not sure where the key comes from, but they are not factory and were much more common on the 126 chasis. I haven't seen them on the 123, but I can't imagine they'd look that great.

to remove the cap use a larger flat head screwdriver, insert it in the nut head and wedge it in and turn, see area marked in red

Those are pretty cool looking wheels. Anyone have a pic of them on a W126?

new info

after taking off the center caps, i found some letters stamped into the wheels: "CENTRA | MADE IN GERMANY | 7J x 16 H2 | e23 112 | 139706"
(good job Boardmonger!)
do those numbers mean anything to anybody?
i'm guessing 7J x 16 means they're 7" wide x 16" diameter?
and e23 112 means they're 5x112 bolt pattern?
and 139706 has gotta be the model number of the wheel.

STRANGE, though: after some poking around for info, it appears that these are identical to RONAL wheels model R31, which appear to have been marketed for the "older Mercedes SL's."

what's the relationship b/w Centra + Ronal? are they the same?

i heard that these suckers used to cost $600/each!
image from Ronal's website:
