Agreed.

Same thing for a W123.

Anything larger is ridiculous..........if you must have a Humvee, go out and buy one.

I shake my head at people that do this, but there is no law against stupidity. The real issue is that braking is compromised- and when some fool with larger rims causes an accident that kills folks who is gonna pay?

To each their own, if someone doesn't mind replacing wheels, let 'em knock themselves out. No skin off my teeth. And those "clown cars: as I call do provide me with a laugh when I see 'em.

Originally I bought these rims to resale ,young guy offered $600 so they went by by,I mounted them on his 93 500e .I took the cash and bought an old 83 mb wagon for $450 .Take about another $500 to get it in tip top shape, should turn a few heads when its done ,Ill ride with a set of 99 clks when its done.Im planning on saling the wagon and finishing up some of the coupes with the procedes .The 19s had 2 issues ,1st was ride quality ,2nd was tire expense ,$200 for each one but they really did have a nice apperance . Funny how it started with a set of otherwise usless $150 rims and turned into a quickie restore of a well preserved 300td .Post some pics of the wagon when its done.

I'm rolling on staggered 20's. 285/35/R20 with 20mm spacer on rear and 245/40/R20 with 15mm spacer on front. It took 60mm wheel bolts to mount them.

Stock Humvee wheels are 16.5". Even the MTVR and HET roll on 20's, and that's with approximately 50" tall tires. I've never understood the appeal of the "huge rim/rubber band tire" look
