Which American cars have lug bolts?
I have stripped hole in my rear hub. A poster in another thread said the cure was to get a lug bolt from a US car (1/2 inch in diameter) and tap the hole to match the thread on the new bolt.
My problem is that I can't find a car that uses SAE lug bolts. Can anyone tell me what car uses inch based lug bolts?

I know 46-51 Plymouth/Dodge had lug bolts. Carquest or Vans did sell old Plymouth/Dodge parts.

actually, now that I remember it was from the 20/30's all the way up to the mid 50's (I had a 53 Dodge with lug bolts and they were right and left had threaded)

Why not just get a hub from a wrecking yard? Most are now linked via computer database and you should be able to find one easily.

Thanks for the answers, I'll try for a Dodge bolt today.
To answer other questions: A new hub is about $400, so I figure a used one will be $50 to 80. On top of that, it looks like replacing a rear hub is a real PITA. I would love to use a 14 mm bolt, but the hole in the wheel will just barely take a half inch and I'm very leary about reaming out an alloy wheel.

Get right-side bolts, IIRC Dodge was using LH threads on the left side in those days.
Next problem is ball-seat or tapered-seat, not sure Dodge ever used ball-seat.

Why not get a shop to heli-coil the stripped hole? Then you can use the stock bolt, and the lug wrench will fit all the bolts.
