Talking W164 - New Tires - Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S

At 55k miles I just put a set of 235/65R17 Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S tires on my 2007 ML320CDI. They replaced a set of Michelin Latitudes which were installed at 30k miles to replace the factory supplied Continental tires.

The installing Goodyear dealer could not believe the low Road Force numbers (3-4) for these tires. I have put 2k miles on them; and can tell you that they are quieter and drive better than either the Michelins or Continentals.

What a sweet ride! It's almost like having a new car again. Very pleased!!

Good to hear... Not to doubt anything, but, what is causing your need to replace tires every 30k and 25k? If I only got that kind of wear out of a $et of Michelin$, I'd be unhappy... Alignment been checked?

Yokos rule on of off, I have Geolandar on my Gurkha, G and Patrol and Avid Touring on my 300TD, the Accord has AVID on them. I have been using Yokohama since the early 80s, started with my Trans Am and have never looked back.

Dealer who sold me the Yokos and the Michelins was surprised, too. There was perhaps another 1k of life on the tires before hitting the wear bars. Alignment is A-OK.

Have Yokohama's YK520's on my 2006 R350 and love them. Good ride, great fuel mileage and quiet. Drove another R350 with Continentals on it and it drove completely different with the Yokohama's being drastically better. Will look to Yokohama again for my other two Mercedes.
