Opinions on Kuhmo solus tires

Any experience with Kuhmo Solus tires on your early MBs like a w123?

Kumho Solus KR21 are real affordable,
Tirerack has super prices on a set and the
Kumho ECO Solus HM KR22 claim 85,000miles!

Luke: want to weigh in on these?

Sidenote: how come all 195/70 ire options are all blackwall only

If my opinion counts, you get what you pay for. How often do you drive this car? Is the suspension in A or C- condition? If the car is sorted out, no major suspension wear, aligned and you drive it often, I'd always go Michelin, any day, any time. Kuhmos would be my choice if the car is an occasional beater that you don't care to keep in tip-top shape

The thing I have noticed about Michelins is that they don't get out of balance as quickly as other brands.

No comments on the soulus line, but do have a set of slightly sporty kuhmo kh16's wrapped around 15 inch ronals. I have been nothing but pleased and have no regrets in saving a few hundred bucks over michelines. And I buy michelin tires....

I dont have the solus line, but I do have a set of kuhmo tires I got from tire rack on my w140 and they have really held up well. 35,000 miles so far and they are wearing well. No complaints with noise either. I'd buy them again!

I've put a couple sets on my cars. They are quiet and ride well. Wear is good. Mine haven't gone out of balance. When I drive my 350 SDL it is for long trips at 65-75 mph.

hows the ride comfort on them? i know im not expecting superior performance etc etc for the price. just something for everyday driving and roadtrips every few years kinda thing. hows the ride over small bumps and cracks etc etc? i know for sure on my low pro 45's, it feels as if i jump curbs when i hit them which is not comfortable when you have family in the vehicle w/ you ragging on how its suppose to be a fancy luxury but rides like **** lol...n e ways back on subject from going on kumho's website these are typical vehicle matches for a few decent cars. hope its not that bad.

I just read a bunch of very positive reviews of the KR21 on tirerack. I will probably be picking up a set some time this month.

KR21 an excellent tire

Had 205-55-16 KR21 tires installed on my wife's '87 300D last week. They balanced with hardly any weights on the Hunter 9600 under load.
I took them for a spin and on the way home from the tire shop I opened it up and was pleasantly surprised how good they feel. I give them an initial thumbs up and at the price they are selling for ($107 per) I might buy a set to replace the Bridgestones on my other '87.
I was upset that Bridgestone discontinued the 960AS Pole position and I have to buy a different tire as they told me a 970AS won't run alongside a 960 without some tire pull. So Bridgestone loses a sale.

Smile

I've got a few hundred miles on a set of Soluses from [our continent's name] Tire. Car (190e) had Michelins, felt no different after Soluses were installed. Quiet, comfy, no balance issues, reasonably good handling. Daily driver. Chose tires due to good reviews by smart-sounding people on "Merca's Tar Cumpny" web site.
