1995 E320 Wagon

Any chance someone here have a stock wheel, straight - not bent - we could make a deal on?! One of mine is bent and it cannot be corrected enough to remove the 'wobble'. It's noticeable on a smooth pavement at low speed, like 15 - 35 mph. Have thought about a new set of wheels for it at some point but can't afford to now. (The wheel style is visible in my signature.) Thanks

Can you not just mount the spare in the mean time?

I have been meaning to call the dealership and ask them if they checked the spare rim when I had it in for some routine maintenance a few weeks ago. They told me that one wheel/tire had a rather bad "road force" reading...like 15 or 20 when the margin should be down below 10.

But thanks for reminding me...and yes, I could try the spare

Thanks how far apart are we? >>Well, I saw that you happen to be in CA! Not close!<< I'm in SW Ohio...
How much you need for it? Condition?

Ironically, just this past weekend, I put the spare on the ground and went for a test ride. Much better! It was Saturday about noon and I knew the nearby MB dealership would be open until 1:00 so I stopped by to see if they would switch the tires around for me. Two tires, two rims ( one was laying in the cargo floor of the wagon) JUST take tire off one wheel remount on other wheel x2. They were gonna charge me $140 + tax - I was outraged to say the least. Haven't had time to take to another more reasonable merchant!

Just thought I'd share that...

If your tires are from Costco, then it will cost you $15 for each tire you remove and install.

If not, just try another tire shop.

Dale, your local MB dealer's rates are outrageous for swapping tires on 2 wheels. Our local MB dealer would charge around $50 for that same work. I have tires mounted/balanced at our local MB dealer because their techs use the MB 2-piece balance weights that look stock and cause little/no damage to the wheel lip.

Well said.

This dealer is ~2miles from my house. I have tr ied to develope a relationship there over the past couple years but they dont seem interested. There'sa dealer I've used that is 45miles away plus THEY recognize my MBCA membership and give a discount on parts and service. The former offers none.

Thanks...are they in good condition? Any curb rash? The one I got out from my spare has a pretty big scratch in it.
