Wheels Spacers on a Stock W123?
I was wondering if anyone had any pics or experience with wheel spacers on a w123 with stock wheels. I am working on doing a mild restoration on my '85 300D with only a few updates. I am thinking that spacing out the stock wheels a little bit will help give it a little bit of a more modern look, while keeping the classic look of the hubcap wheels. Doe anyone have any feedback on this? How wide of spacers should I use? Thanks.

I haven't done this, but I'd love to. Did you do it and would you mind sharing what you learned? I have a 1985 300cd with a broken odometer at 263k. She probably has about 300k now and is still used as a daily driver.

Are the w140s similar to the w123s?

no w140s are different, but I was just stating that the fad in Germany for spacing gets wild, there.

50mm would be too much for my taste. I want something that most people wouldn't even notice. I'm thinking about 20mm and only in the rear; the rear is what really bugs me on the 300cd. If I do it, I'll post before and after since I can't find any pics where someone kept the stock wheels.

OK, I bought 25mm Wheel Adapters for my 300cd. I've included a couple images with a Before on the left and After on the right. No question about it -- it's subtle. I think it's a little more noticeable in person and to me specifically.

The car may handle a little better, or at least I may have convinced myself that it does. Honestly, it's not very noticeable. I'm happy with the change. It "corrected" the issue with the overly inset rear wheels in my eyes. I might go with even wider spacers if i had to do it again.

Anyone know where I can buy quality wheel spacers for the rear of a W123? Perhaps 25-35mm, I have 6.5" wide steelies and my next set of tires will be 205s, so don't want to get too wide and end up contacting the body.
