I think 8-hole wheels look good on the W126.

You could try those.
Go to www.tirerack.com put your car on and try the 8-holes. I think they are made by Mille Miglia, it's called Type 8 or something.

The chroming process weakens these wheels. Also, it usually doesn't last very long before it starts peeling.

Good luck,

This is why all cars, including Japanese and American, never come with chromed wheels from the factory. Chroming is always a dealer headache, I mean add-on. Manufacturers cannot warranty a chrome wheel.

Mitsubishi Motors U.S.A. experimented with chrome wheels from the factory with a warranty for one model year, and they lost their shorts on it.

The 8-hole wheels have a machine finish and are extremely shiney when clean.

Virtually all wheels, with the exception of chrome and highly machine polished wheels, have a clear coat on them.

Clear coat is simply paint with no pigment.

Thus, you should apply polish and wax to wheels just like you polish and wax the paint on your car.

Your wheels will become so shiney and reflective that they'll look like a mirror.
