300SDL Rims
Have a 87 300SDL, looking for recommendations on increasing the tire size from stock. Also - what other rims fit the 126. Thanks.

I finnally ran out the old rubber on the stock 15" and went with ASA Type 8 16"x7.5 in chrome on my 87 SDL. 225/55/16 Continental ContiExtreme Contact tires. All from tirerack.com.
It's all personal preferance of course. For me, 18's look a bit too large and I couldn't find 17's in a factory MB style or a price that fit. Didn't want an aftermarket look. Didn't want to put too much $$ into it and find it on blocks. Also very happy with the type 8 style not showing off too much brake/rotor. I don't think I have time to polish & paint brake parts on this daily driver (but I'd like to). With the new wheels and tires I hear more wind noise from the car. But I don't miss what sounded like 44" off road tires on a jacked up F350 that I was getting from driving the old tires. Now I can actually hear the car. |
