124 300TE with CLK 7 spokes

There are a lot of wheel/tire options out there. I finally went with a OE wheel from a 2001 CLK 16" ET37 7 spoke wheel and 205/55-16 tires. Fitment is perfect! No rubbing, no sticking out past the fender and ultimately the wheels really compliment the 124 body. Hope it helps. Enjoy.

Nice match. Wasn't the offset different for the clk wheels?

These wheels have a 37mm offset. Perfect fit. My biggest concern when selecting a set of wheels was that they stay in keeping with the 124 body style and that they do not draw attention to themselves. I also did not want spacers nor did I want them to stick out vertically from the fender well. The bonus is that these wheels can be found for a resonable price.

I just bought a set myself tonight

thanks to your inspiring story, I bought a set from I******** on ebay. They are really cheap, even with the shipping from Phoenix Arizona to Boston. Thanks for the tip!

did you use the old wheel bolts

48hp - I'm getting ready to do the same thing, but with earlier style CLK wheels - did you use the original wheel bolts or did you find you needed a different length?

TIA

Brian

Lugz

The stock lugz were appropriate for these wheels. Be sure to check before installing. Too long, no good, too short even worse. Good luck!

I used the 16" wheels from a 97 E420. Just another way to go.
