Who here has updated the wheels on their W123?

Just wondering how many people have upgraded to larger wheels, I myself am always pondering the idea of 15" 8 holes, like the way they look on the car, but also love the bundts. If you have pics of your W123 with updated wheels, please post them so we can see!

my ex-300CD.

At its new home

Loved that car! Definitely a more charming car than the bland and boring W124. If only I could have the 124's V8 in a 123 Coupe body

I've seen Holson's ex-300 up close and the pics don't do it justice. For an NE car its particularly nice. Always liked the wheels but he wouldn't sell 'em to me.... RT

Has anyone converted to a rack and pinion?

that link will take you to a few more picts....

it is a mutt, powered by a ford v6, that is to be supercharged once the new engine gets a few miles on her...

long story short - bought it at 15 with a dead engine, dad taught me how to do a conversion, now after college i am revisiting it and "restoring it" - having fun...it ran 7 years before this winters work...

Thats quite a project!! Back in Highschool I would go with my friends to the local racetrack for fri. nite H.S. division muscle car dragracing.. my friend at the time was rolling in a 66 Plymouth VIP 2 dr. AMAZING car, finished in the rare copper plated dark rusty orange/red metallic paint, black leather int. FAST car. Point being though, is that there was a guy there who would show up with a 78 300D with a chevy V-8 conversion. It looked stock on the outside, even retained the 300D Diesel badging. Definitely a stealthy car. Was alot of fun to watch!

Where did you find the body kit for your car???
W123 body accesories are few and far between!!
Love the monoblocks!

I am running '99 CLK 16" rims with Continental ContiSportContacts in 205/55-16 on my '82 300CD. I used a 20mm H&R spacer and longer studs at each corner, and it worked out perfect. Much better handling, and the ride is about the same.

I'm in process of switching to mid-'80s AMG Hammer

15" X 7" ET16 rims (resemble Ronal R9) on my '85 300TD, with Yoko. ES100 225/50, and I'm very pleased with the results on the front end in terms of increased road feel from the radical reduction in offset (some might call it "kickback" or "rut following"). I'm not entirely sure the Yoko were the best choice, but they aren't giving me any serious complaints so far.

I'm afraid I may have difficulty getting my wife (the digital camera person) to post a picture for me because she's all preoccupied with end of school photography.

I've got Holson's old CD and yes, it is a damn nice car for New England or for anywhere actually. Had to drive it all winter due to axle failure in my beater 300D. The car ran flawlessly for the whole season. I will be detailing it this coming weekend. The wheels really do make the car along with the Euro lights. Definitely one of the only times I've gotten lucky buying cars :-) I'll be selling the beater to finance the A/C repair/replacement on the CD. The new beater will be my long owned rice-burner 929, the CD my good weather car.
