The MB jack is designed for use on all roadside conditions ... flat or angled. As mentioned place the car in Park and set the parking brake then align the jack so it's plumb and raise the car ... very simple. The base of the jack is curved to accommodate changing a tire on any type of a hill. If the base of the jack was flat then you would need wedges to provide a flat surface under the jack. Wheel chocks are a good idea under any conditions.
