After getting into the harness (cutting off the wrapping) I have decieded that the heat of the shorted wires caused more damage to surrounding wire insulation that I am comfortable with trying to seperate/assure that there are no cross continuity problems. While I have figured out where all the ignition switch wires go, and could run direct wire, the other damage has made me deciede to replace the harness. I have a line on a good used harness for a reasonable price.
