I assume that you are talking about the long flat plastic cover. You can make it fit by neatly getting the wires in place and then neatly wrap in a few places with electrical tape. This keeps the wires from putting pressure on the valve cover which forces the cover up and out of position.

It's been a LONG time since I did this so my explanation may be flawed.
