I don't know of any shortcuts to changing the booster, but I do know that a MityVac hand pump is a lifesaver. I can bleed the entire brake system in about 10 minutes. My wife complained when I bought it. It didn't look like much and cost almost $50. But the first time I used it for bleeding brakes, actually I was replacing all the fluid in the lines, it saved a bunch of time. To me, it's worth it's weight in gold.
