Had my OP double hernia operation a couple of years ago. Quick and very little invasive scars.

Hope you have someone to care for you for the next couple of days...laughing, coughing and urinating will be uncomfortable (about an 8 on a 10 pain scale)!

Wear loose fitting clothing for the next week or so, but definitely stay in bed for those first two days. The pain will probably keep you from doing anything stupid, but if you could, you could rip those staples...and your sutures!

The scare tactic is just to keep you humble...and in bed. You'll recover a lot quicker than the "Rambo"-types that think they can do a roofing job the next day!
