thanks for the info.ill look into the silver solder option.i would assume i can use my aceteylene torch for this.its been too many years since i last tried silver soldering.at that time i was just a lad working in me grandpappys electric motor repair shop. we used silver solder to attach new contacts to the heavy duty switches inside industrial duty a/c motors.my recollection was that it produced a much stronger heat resistant weld
