Had one for a couple of years then traded it for the SL. Great running car with no problems that I remember. Only thing to watch out for in the winter areas is rust. We fixed a lot of rust on a 98 last week, and I was really dissapointed in all the rust we found. Don't think your 97 or 98 E is rust free untill you pull the bumpers off and take a good look.
