On the same car, I had some luck fixing the problem by doing the following: If you look closely on the steering column where the turn signal stalk comes out you will see a small rectangular plastic cover. Gently pry it open, and lift it out about 1" or so. Than spray contact cleaner, or WD40 inside the opening. This should help clean any corrosion on the turn signal

Do this a few times, than try the turn signal again. Hopefully this fixes your problem. Otherwise, as a previous responder noted, it really does sound like you have either bad, or not the proper turn signal light bulbs. (Front, and/or back)
