I was working on a friend's Canadian 300e and I was going to use the 16 PIN diagnostics module but there was no connector on pin 16 (what should be the positive terminal)

Were the Canadian cars different and didn't have circuit 15 (+) at pin 16? I know that I can just connect the postive terminal of the code reader to the postive terminal of the battery, but I was curious about the diagnostic box.
