Since Bosch had a hand with some of the electrical MB components, I would think that the plugs would be compatible with the state of the engine technology.
You can use them safely without any adverse effects, but I doubt that you would notice any real performance gains. Cars these days are monitored by computers, which makes instantaneous adjustments, while engine technology and tolerances have left very little "slop" (for lack of a better word) available for much tweaking.
For very early cars (70's and earlier), the platinum plugs actually hamper performance, not help. If your car came with copper-tipped plugs, stick with them.
