Could be the lifting angles, could be the sunroof cable. You won't really be able to tell unless you can get the headliner off. Unfortunately this requires being able to slide back the sunroof part way into the roof. You might try gently helping it down and back with your hand while actuating the switch, but obviously you don't want to jam anything that isn't already jammed.
