And this piece is not aluminum, it's actual chrome from what I can tell.

I just want to spray over it instead of taking apart the door and spending another $500 on the thing.

EDIT: And BTW, Mother's is available from Advance Auto. It's not all that. I've used Mother's, Gords, 0000 steel wool, SOS pads, you name it. It's SLOWLY getting better. I am going to get a jewelers wheel for the drill and see if I can't get it back shiny now that it's off the car. But I tell you, Mother's is no miracle cure.
