I'm guessing that ba-da-boom predates even Carson. I'm betting Milton Berle used that one before Johnny Carson ever thought about going on TV.

Speaking of funny people, I saw a Munsters episode a while back in which Herman had to go to the doctor. The doctor was played by Paul Lynde. What a tremedous comic actor he was. He just about jumped out of his skin when Herman came into the examination room. Funnier than hell.

For that matter, Fred Gwynn has got to be on the short list of all-time great comedic actors. Herman Munster was hillarious and Gwynn's portrayal of the judge in "My Cousin Vinny" was perfection.
