Does anyone have a diagram of how a wiper/signal stalk is put together?

1986 190e 2.3.... parts in hand.... square end cap, insert for endcap, spring and a small metal rod ~1mm x 20mm. (the rest is still attached to the car)

trying to figure out how to put it back together so that it will work and allow the wiper to be turned off.
