In the older cars it's ok to "hack" in a non OE sensor. On the newer cars I stongly reccomend against it. I actually had a conversation with a Bosch rep about this subject and he pointed out that while different sensors may look and function almost identical there are variations in the heater circuit amperage draw. Mixing and matching on L/H, HFM, and ME control units could cause problems. CIS cars don't seem to care as much.
