Guys, need some general comments from you. Are the self locking nuts reusable in general?

I got all the parts ready for my shocks replacement but according to the WIS instructions, the self locking nuts are to be replaced after each use. Checked with dealer and their mark up is 200%, the list price of $1.00 they want >$3 for a nut, I think that's nuts. Anyhow, those of you who replaced the shocks, did you just recycle the self locking nuts?
