The purpose of the Over Voltage Protection relay is to 'blow' the fuse to interrupt power to, and thus protect, electronics when the supply voltage is too high.

Buy or borrow a multimeter and measure the voltage at the battery with the car off, and then with it running. Anything much higher than 13-14 volts when it is running is not good.
