Your 380SL has a vacume manual central locking system. Lock the drivers door manually and the vacume actuators in the driver's, passenger door, boot and fuel cap cover lock at the same time. Trying to convert to a wholly electric system would be a nitemare and would not be as efficient or as quiet as the original system. Removing the door vacume system could also cause additional grief by effecting your other vacume systems ie heater and vent operation! Cheaper and safer to repair your passenger door lock and fit a single electric solenoid keyless remote to your drivers door, which works in conjunction with the vacume system and brings you into the modern world of keyless entry.
