That car has got have the worst designed radiator fan. I remember having to grind off my wrench to get it on the bolts, and they're no fun to access. I'd say both my 240D and E300D have much better designed fans. You don't need any special wrench on the 240D and the E300D has only one center bolt, though it's helpful to have the special stubby socket and pulley holder from MB to remove it.
