Man, I love it when I can make this recommendondation; Join the Marines!!! Not only are they looking for a few good men, they have what's called "Special Services" where one can use wonderful DIY facilities and the requisite equipment and tools that are found in pretty decent shops.

Granted, the other branches likely have similar (read, "better" as the Marine Corps typically makes do with less) offerings, but who wants to be a Dog-Face, a Zoomie, a Shallow-Water-Sailor, or worst of all...a Squid?
