i know an electrician
from around here that was drilling a hole in a floor joist with a 1/2" drive drill. now my friend was german baptist and had the long chin whiskers that are characteristic of that order. so here he is on a ladder with the large drill, drilling happily away on the floor joist.
now any of you who have used a 1/2" gear reduction drill knows how long they take to run down after you let off the trigger, and what they do if they bind up in the hole (they will fling you against the wall like a rag)..... so here he is on this ladder and a few hairs in his beard get caught in the chuck of the drill.... and before he can get the drill stopped it had sucked the beard into the chuck, wrapped it up and pulled his face up for a good whap whap whap against the chuck as it continued to wind down. and in the process pulled out a large patch of his beard.
every time i think of that one i chuckle.
ouch!
