Your steering column shaft could be binding. Get the front wheels off the ground. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel lock to lock. Should turn freely w/o any binding. If you feel any rough spots or binding or hear any funny noises, start looking in that area. Providing all the previous diagnosis was correct.
