Given the nature of CIS injectors, they tend to clog and spray poorly. A good cleaner can do wonders for a set of clogged injectors. The important thing to remember is to not overdo the concentration. The very expensive fuel distributor could possibly be damaged by overdoing it.

As far as an octane boost, you shouldn't need it if you're burning premium fuel.
